It's Picnic Week!

Added 19 Jun 2018

Now that the weather is getting warmer and there are lots of fresh in-season foods to make the most of, join us in celebrating National picnic week!

Picnics are the perfect occasion to relax and enjoy long walks with family or friends! Not to mention tucking into a bundle of yummy sandwiches or relaxing in the park with friends or your other half!
Grab some fresh fruit and sweet snacks to enjoy in the sunshine. To get you started, check out our favourite picnic recipes on our website, you’re sure to find something to your taste!

There are lots of beautiful countryside walks scattered throughout the UK, all of which let you experience the best of the British countryside. We love the summer walks put together by Countryside Online, which you can find here (there are even some pubs along the way for that well-deserved break).

If you want to add an extra element of fun to your day out for the little ones, check out our Countryside Explorer game. The game gives you your very own treasure hunt for creepy crawlies, animals and unusual features found around the British countryside. Not only is available on any devices via our website, but you can even access it offline with our downloadable PDF too so you can become a proper explorer and venture off into the wilderness!

If you are hoping to get out picnicking this week, don’t forget that here at Red Tractor we like to make sure we’re protecting the environment. Please remember to follow the countryside code by taking all rubbish with you and making sure you choose a picnic spot that respects other people and farming communities. You can check out the full code here

So join the nation this week as we grab our picnic blankets, pack up our favourite meals and enjoy the British countryside in all its glory! Let us know what you decide to do to celebrate by getting in touch via Twitter, Facebook or Instagram.
