Red Tractor Farm Assurance New Website - FAQ
What is the new website?
The new Red Tractor Assurance website www.redtractorassurance.org.uk will be launched in early February 2011. It effectively combines all the current individual Red Tractor Farm Assurance sector websites (formerly Assured British Meat (ABM), Assured British Pigs (ABP), Assured Combinable Crops (ACCS), Assured Chicken Production (ACP) and Assured Produce (APS) and Assured Dairy Farms into a single site offering new, improved and combined industry services.
How will I know when the new website has been launched?
If you visit the information areas of any of the current sector websites then after www.redtractorassurance.org.uk has been launched you will be re-directed to the relevant sector area of the new website which contains all the same information and more.
What is happening to the checker service(s) I currently use?
The checker service(s) you currently use are not changing, however they are being moved to a new website www.redtractorassurance.org.uk.
How will I know when the checker service has moved?
The first time you try to visit the current checker pages after www.redtractorassurance.org.uk has been launched you will be re-directed to a new checker log-in page which you should complete using your current username and password.
What will happen after I log-in for the first time?
On this occasion you will then be asked to re-confirm all your contact details including your email address. It is important that you take the time to complete this information accurately as it will help us to provide important communications to you about the schemes and services we offer in future. Once you have completed this process you will then be automatically directed to the new checker home page and a new username and password will be issued to you by email. Following this only the new username and password will allow you access to the checker(s) and your old username will no longer work.
Why can’t I keep using my old username and password?
The existing services mean we have a different database of users for each sector whereas the new system will be one central list of all users. In order to ensure this is accurate rather than copy all the existing checker user lists across new registrations need to be made at the time of first visit. This will ensure our future communication with you is more efficient and avoid users receiving multiple copies of the same message from us.
What do I do if I forget my new login details?
The new website will have a simple to use Forgotten Password facility. All you need to do is put the email address that you confirmed when you re-registered and we will send you your username and a new password which you can then set back to something more memorable in the account admin page. If you don't have access to the email address you registered with you can either re-register or use the contact form to get in touch and ask us to update your email address.
Can I amend my password so it is easier for me to remember?
Yes this is a new facility which you can use by going to My Account once you are logged in. Our previous services did not allow you to create your own password.
I haven't received the email with my new username and password?
Please check that your spam or email software hasn't blocked the message. The email will be sent from info@redtractorassurance.org.uk. If you wanted to make sure you always recieve future correspondance from Red Tractor you could add this domain to your trusted addresses.
Can more than one user register per company?
Yes each company can register as many users as they want for the checkers and services. Only one username and password will be issued per email address so users within the same company will need to register individually with their own email address. It is not recommended that usernames and passwords are shared amongst colleagues as it is important we have the right up to date contact information so we can provide you with regular updates and communication in the future.
What happens if more than one person in the company shares the same email address (eg info@abc.co.uk?
The system will not allow more than one registration per email address and therefore only when the same email address is shared the single username and password will need to be shared. The same username and password can be logged into the system on more than one computer simultaneously.
What happens if I want to apply for access to more than one service
Once you are logged in the site will offer you the ability to register for additional services available for other sectors under the same registration so you will not have to remember more than one username and password.
Will there be any cost of registering for another sector checker?
No, the Red Tractor Assurance checkers are a free service we offer to the industry. We will in the near future be launching some additional tracker services for which an annual subscription will be payable. These will allow businesses to identify their regular customers and receive daily emails notifying if their assurance status has changed rather than having to go back to use the checker. Look out for more information in the next few months.
Will some additional services be automatically granted?
Yes. We recognise that in the livestock sectors checker users will need access to other services which relate to sectors post-farm. Therefore all registered users of the RTFA Pigs checkers will also automatically be granted access to the Red Tractor Assurance Transport (formerly ABM/ABP) checker. And all registered users of the RTFA Beef and Lamb checkers will also automatically be granted access to both the Red Tractor Assurance Transport and Market/Collection Centre checkers.
Is there anyway of identifying who is currently suspended and can’t sell livestock/products as assured?
Yes, one key feature of the new services will be the availability of an Industry Watchlist for each sector which for some sectors is a new feature. This is a real time list of all suspended members and those who have had their certificate withdrawn at the time of the download. Users are reminded that it is only valid on the day it is downloaded as a farmers certificate status can change from day to day.
