Beef and Lamb Board
The Red Tractor Assurance Beef & Lamb Board is responsible for overseeing the management of the Scheme and its activities.
The Board is appointed with the aim of providing expert cross-industry representation and includes members from the breath the red meat supply chain: producers, auctioneers, hauliers, meat processors and food retailers. Some members are nominees of leading Trade Associations (1), whilst other appointments are made on the merits of an individual’s expertise and contribution to the industry (2).

Beef and Lamb Technical Advisory Committee
The TAC is a group of industry experts who meet at least three times a year to discuss standard setting for farm, market, transport and abattoir standards. The group considers legislation, existing standards, market activity and industry requirements when making decisions about Red Tractor Assurance standards.
The TAC is appointed with qualified individuals with experience within certain areas of industry and in relevant cases expertise in food safety issues, animal welfare, environmental protection and law enforcement. The varied expertise provided by the TAC ensures that the standards are practical and achievable whilst meeting the demands of consumers.
